Join the Primetime Social Club on a historical driving tour in and around the Kansas City Metro area with Special Step-on-Guide, Octave Chanute. Who is Octave Chanute? He was a civil engineer and an aviation pioneer. He designed and constructed the Kansas City Stockyards in 1871 and the Hannibal Railroad Bridge on 1869, which was the first bridge to cross the Missouri river in Kansas City. Octave Chanute was born on February 18, 1832 and died on November 23, 1910, but he will be back on July 31, 2019 to share his commentary with us on interesting Kansas City spots and famous Kansas City people.
There will only be four short stops on the trip for photo ops as well as a delicious BBQ Buffet Lunch at Jack Stack BBQ Freight House restaurant. To name a few spots and famous people we will see and hear about on the trip: Satchel Paige's grave, how the KC fountains began, Walt Disney's Laugh-O-Gram Studio, Union Station Massacre, City Market, President Truman's Haberdashery, Nell Donnally Reed's kidnapping and her multi-million dollar dress empire, Lewis & Clark campsite and many, many more!
