Step Back into Missouri History - March 28, 2019
Visit the home of Missouri's 20th Century Artist, Thomas Hart Benton and the Famous Arabia Steamboat Museum

Our first stop will be the Thomas Hart Benton home. Thomas Hart Benton is Missouri's most famous painter. He is best known for his large murals, and for his social historical paintings. Most American museums have examples of his work. After our Italian buffet lunch at Cascone's restaurant we are off to the Arabia Steamboat Museum. The Arabia Steamboat sank near Kansas City on September 5, 1856 carrying 200 tons of cargo. Lost for 132 years, it's recovery in 1988 was like finding King Tut's Tomb of the Missouri River.

Metro Area with Octave Chanute - July 31, 2019

Join the Primetime Social Club on a historical driving tour in and around the Kansas City Metro area with Special Step-on-Guide, Octave Chanute. Who is Octave Chanute? He was a civil engineer and an aviation pioneer. He designed and constructed the Kansas City Stockyards in 1871 and the Hannibal Railroad Bridge on 1869, which was the first bridge to cross the Missouri river in Kansas City. Octave Chanute was born on February 18, 1832 and died on November 23, 1910, but he will be back on July 31, 2019 to share his commentary with us on interesting Kansas City spots and famous Kansas City people.
