Phone Calls, Txt Messages & Email scams target Security Bank of Kansas City Customers & Non-Customers

A scam consisting of robo phone calls, txt messages and emails have been targeting customers and non customers of Security Bank of Kansas City. The phone call is automated and informs the customer or non customer that their debit cards have been deactivated and they can reactivate them by calling a certain number. The call specifically states that it is "Security Bank" calling and that either your card has been compromised and needs to be deactivated or that you need to activate your new card.

The Bank has reports that several phone calls in reference to this scam came from non-customers who are inquiring why Security Bank of Kansas City is calling them, when they do not have an account with Security Bank of Kansas City.

People are advised never to give out their banking information over the phone or internet. Security Bank of Kansas City has a policy of never soliciting information through automated phone calls.
